We foster people into shakers.
noun /ˈsHākər/
A Kingdom individual who is driven to shake up how Christians seek and experience God by confidently embracing their identity and encouraging others to do the same.
Founded on the identity-defining words of Jesus in Matthew 5:14-16, Taking Up Space exists to support you in living faith-forward. Our events, resources, and teachings are based on the eternal authority of scripture, to equip our community to live as a light, attracing those around them to the kingdom of God.
OUR VALUES
We aspire to help you embrace the unique individual that God has called you to be. Here’s how…
connection
We believe that we are not meant to experience the full spectrum of life alone. We create spaces for our community to connect more deeply to others and God.
Hebrews 10:24-25
mindfulness
We believe that God has called us to do everything on purpose and with a purpose. We create spaces for planning, preparation, and reflection.
Ephesians 5:17
love
We believe that we were placed on earth to be a current representation of Jesus’ love. We create, share, and teach everything in love.
1 John 3:18
spirituality
We believe that everything is that deep. We stand firmly on the Word of God as the truth of our lives, no matter what we may see or hear in the physical world.
Ephesians 6:12
Hey, I’m Rosalyn! Like you, I’ve known
about God my whole life.
Even though I grew up in the church, I did not always live what I learned and struggled to lead a life mirroring His image. It was only in recent years that I chose to accept the true meaning of being a follower of Christ.
The truth?
My journey getting here has been challenging and far from perfect. My testimony is filled with complex, raw experiences that I hardly saw represented in the church and were considered taboo. I wrestled with anxiety, continuous heartbreak from unhealthy relationships, depression, people-pleasing, and low self-worth. For years I chose to accept disappointment and dysfunction as my portion.
Through all of this, the Lord still pursued me. One day John 10:10 stood out to me in a way that it hadn't before. Desperate for a different life, I bravely asked God, “What would Your abundant life look like for me?” I desired to know what living out my God-given identity to the fullest capacity looked like. By faith, He reshaped my perspective and renewed my mind to birth Taking Up Space.
